Brother iPrint&Scan for PC/Mac provides access to scanning and workflow functionality. Click here for instructions on how to download and install the Brother iPrint&Scan for your Windows or Macintosh computer. To use this feature, you must download and install the Full Driver and Software package, which includes the machine's scanner driver, from https://support.brother.com. Most of the screens used below are from Windows and may differ slightly based on your Operating System. The overall steps will be the same. 1. Open Brother iPrint&Scan: - Windows Users: Double-click on - Macintosh Users: Browse to Go → Applications → Brother iPrint&Scan. 3. Click Machine Scan Settings. 4. If this is the first time that you've configured the scan settings, you will receive the following screen, based on your operating system:
Windows Users a. If you receive a message stating: Complete this setting to use the scan function on the control panel of your machine. Click Setup. c. Once the setup is complete, click Completed. Go to . Macintosh Users a. If you receive a message stating: Complete this setting to use the scan function on the control panel of your machine. Click Settings. c. Click Next. d. Place a check next to "Change the computer name displayed on your machine" and add a desired name. This is the name that will show up on the machine to identify this computer when using the "Scan to" buttons. Click Next.
e. Once the setup is complete, click Completed. Go to . 5. Click Machine Scan Settings. 7. Configure the desired settings and then click OK.
Scan to PC settings (may vary by model)
- Document Size: Choose the appropriate size based on your document's dimensions. - Color Setting: Choose the color or black & white setting for your document. - Resolution: Select a scanning resolution from the Resolution drop-down list. Higher resolutions take more memory and transfer time, but produce a finer scanned image. - 2-sided: To scan both sides of a document, choose the binding direction. - All Settings: Click this for advanced settings such as Document Correction, Auto Deskew, Image Quality, Remove Background Color, Auto Image Rotation, Edge Fill, etc. The available settings will vary based on your machine's supported features. - File Name: Type a prefix for your file name. - Select Folder: Browse and select the folder where you want to save your scanned documents. - File Type: Select the file type you want to use for the scanned data. Click Settings to configure the settings, such as compression rate, searchable PDF, Secure PDF, or OCR Language. The available settings will vary based on the selected file type and your machine's supported features. - Default: Click this button to restore all settings to their default values. 8. Click OK.
